Synesi Associates has the experience of many business and educational executives, as well as proprietary strategies and proven processes that run deep in various facets of education.  By combining experience with our thorough understanding of the challenges and issues in today’s K-12 schools, Synesi changes the way that districts operate.  We concentrate on five distinct areas of support that are crucial to turning around any school district.

Leadership: Strong and effective leadership is key to school improvement.  By putting our focus on a wider level, we work to create a shared leadership model that includes the entire school community. We aim to involve not only teachers, but also principals, central office staff, and administrators to ensure that there is adequate leadership from top to bottom.

Parent and Community Ties: Parents and the general community are a key factor in the education improvement process.  We work to help strengthen the ties between school staff and the parents and community to maximize improvement potential.  By creating a comfortable environment, it not only allows the district more room to develop and improve, but also streamlines communication so that students can grow and learn better as well. 

Professional Capacity: Low performing schools have a difficult time hiring and retaining highly qualified teachers who will nurture students’ abilities as well as develop a professional community.  Synesi Associates works to find educators who will create an environment of collegial professionalism and develop programs specific to each school’s individual needs. We then work with these new teachers over a long period to ensure that they can handle the challenges in the classroom. 

Student Focused, Quality Instruction: Quality instruction is critical to district turnaround, and we strive to create a learning climate for students that will help them succeed.  We help districts implement curriculum and instruction that is rigorous, engaging and intellectually challenging. Synesi ensures that instruction targets individual student needs and is aligned with educational standards, including strong elements of reading, writing and mathematics.

School Climate: On occasion, schools will have safety and security issues that can have a negative impact on instruction.   When our associates encounter these issues we are able to assist the school in finding solutions.  Whether the problem is a security concern, the need for a safety plan or making the school a welcoming place to all stakeholders, Synesi can bring solutions that will enable the school to concentrate on teaching and learning.
